There are surfers and surfshops to be found everywhere, and any morning at any given break, you'll find a bunch of hardcore surfers keen to get the first wave of the day. Some of those surfers regularly frequent our message boards!

Typically, the best season for surfing in Japan is around July through October when the typhoons that pass through whip up some huge swells... and I mean HUGE!

From the pristine beaches and reef breaks of the Southern Islands, to the glassy winter barrels on the Japan Sea side, Japan has all the goods on offer for both advanced and beginner surfer.
